The Essential Details of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 2

[ English ]

As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the board to your home board while at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces shifting in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at specific times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move his pieces, the Priming Game plan is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or result a battered position if he at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. As soon as you’ve successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of your opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, and you move your chips and toss the dice yet again. You’ll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are similar – to hurt your opponent’s positions hoping to better your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game technique uses seperate tactics to do that. The Back Game tactic is commonly utilized when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you need to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This strategy is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your chips and how the chips are moved is partially the outcome of the dice roll.
